Prior to his undergraduate coursework, Jonathon attended culinary school at the Le Cordon Bleu program in Portland, Oregon, and he still enjoys cooking for family and friends at every opportunity.
Jonathon decided he would live in Alaska after his first visit as a child, and over the years he never wavered. As a law student Jonathon clerked for an Anchorage law firm specializing in utilities law, Kemppel, Huffman & Ellis, P.C., and continued working there after graduation as an associate, and later as a shareholder. Jonathon enjoys learning languages and speaks English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, and Italian. Jonathon and his family enjoy fishing, hunting, and exploring new adventures all over Alaska with their dogs whenever possible.
